Additionally, the Programs Director is responsible for the training and supervision of the Assistant Program Director, support group facilitators and program interns.

The Programs Director must have a Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Human Development or a related field and, preferably, be licensed by the Oklahoma Behavioral Health as a LCSW, LPC or LMFT with a minimum of five years’ experience.

Summary:

Operating under the oversight of the Executive Director, the Programs Director is responsible for creating, managing and overseeing all programming efforts in the community including center based, school based and partnership services. Additionally, the Programs Director is responsible for the training and supervision of the Assistant Program Director, program volunteers and program interns.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Program Duties

  • Work closely with the ED to provide vision and leadership to the agency about best practices of a bereavement support program.
  • Coordinate comprehensive bereavement and divorce services for Calm Waters including center-based groups (including Parent Through Divorce seminar), school-based groups, community-based groups and youth camps.
  • Conducts research on evidenced based curriculum and interventions to implement in yearly curriculum updates.
  • Works in conjunction with the Director of Marketing and Outreach to train and recognize volunteers.
  • Maintain confidential records of group participants as well as outcome measures of programs.
  • In collaboration with Director of Development, participate in the evaluating program needs and potential and existing grants and funding.
  • Create curriculum and implement all Calm Waters’ trainings including volunteer training, Educator training and Counselor training.
  • Lead community crisis response.
  • Maintain counseling certificate in accordance to standards set by state licensing board and maintain a limited caseload of clients who are not yet group ready.

Administrative and Community Duties

  • Provides program leadership, support and supervision to other program staff and program volunteers as well as conducting their twice annual performance evaluations.
  • Participates in annual department budget and monthly reports regarding revenue, client volumes and program trends.
  • Participates and adheres to timeline in Calm Waters Strategic Plan.
  • Plan annual Programs calendar.
  • Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings, team member meetings, program committee meetings and board meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Additional skills and abilities required:

  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills
  • Must be knowledgeable and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite or other design software
  • Must be an innovative self-starter searching for ways to simplify processes and enhance programming
  • Must be able to develop , prepare and manage program budgets
  • Demonstrates leadership abilities and ability to utilize reflective supervision
  • Ability to work as a cooperative and supportive team member
  • Ability and willingness to assist development and marketing in all events
  • Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information and materials
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with peers, volunteers and other stakeholders

Education and/or Experience:

  • Licensed by Oklahoma Behavioral Health as a LCSW, LPC or LMFT with a minimum of five years’ experience.
  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Human Development or a related field.

Additional job requirements:

  • Clearance of background check.
  • A strong clinical understanding of research based, clinical interventions specific to children and families grief experience.
